Family: Married to Celeste (1986). Two children, Kyle (1989) and Melissa (1992).
Testimony: I was born July 3, 1961 in Albany Oregon. My parents
were devoted Catholics who trained me to go to church every Sunday and
have a basic knowledge of God. Yet I felt that God was up in heaven
and I was down here on earth with the freedom to do whatever I liked.
I spent all my years growing up in Albany and then went on the faraway
journey to Oregon State. While I was under my parent's authority, I
obeyed their rules, but when I lived on campus, I felt I had the freedom
to do what I wanted. My main goal was to be liked by others, so I did
what everybody else did instead of studying. My grades went south and I no longer
went to church. But God was still there and gradually started weaning me
from the things of the world that were hindering me from believing in
Him. It was in my junior year after a conversation about who God was
that I decided to go God's way and not my own path of destruction.
The chapter that inspired me was I Corinthians 13. I wanted to be loved
and to love, and here was the answer. So in May 1982, I became a follower
of Jesus Christ. I was baptized September of 1984.

acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:5-6
